A lifetime passion for art has
inspired Carol McCall in her professional career as a painter for over
thirty years. Her formal
training was at the University of Kansas where she majored in drawing
and painting. After
college she lived in the San Francisco Bay area and was active in the
art community there. At
home now, in rural Johnson County, Kansas she shares a studio with her
artist husband Bill McCall. She
has served in many area art organizations and started an area plein
air painting event. Her
exhibits in juried shows and plein air painting events have produced
numerous awards. She
conducts workshops and teaches, often taking her students out into the
field for plein air painting. Her
work has been shown in various venues over the years including some of
the region’s finest galleries. Her paintings are in private and
corporate collections across the country.

"Woodland Retreat"
24" X 36" Oil on Canvas
$1,100.00
“The rich tradition of oil painting drew me into what has
become a life long passion. I
live in the country and the natural world is always an influence.
I work directly with lush colors and free brush strokes often
mixing colors on my canvas. I
hope that as each painting develops it can overcome its real
inspiration to become a real painting.”
